Lion, the king of the jungle was shot by a hunter. The entire animal population of the jungle was restless. They didn't have king anymore. Soon after the shooting incident, all population of the jungle gathered to elect for a new king. First to be nominated was leopard, but he refused.

"Not me, seeing humans makes me scared to death and run away," he said.

"If so, how about you rhinoceros, you are strong aren't you?" asked the other animals. "No, my sight is not good. I hit trees many times."

"Oh...then maybe elephant should be elected as the new king, your body is very big," offered the other animals.

"I can't fight and I also move so slowly," refused the elephant.

All the animals became confused, they didn't find the successor of the lion for the jungle kingdom. When they finally dispersed, suddenly the monkey shouted, "A human should be the king! He was the one who shot the lion, wasn't he?"

"It's impossible" replied the squirrel and other animals.

"Well, then please pay attention to me..., I resemble humankind, don't I? Then I'm the one who is suitable to become the king," said the monkey. After long discussion, the jungle population agreed to elect monkey as their new king. But after he was elected as the king, monkey's behavior was not like he was supposed to be. He was only lazed around and kept eating delicious foods.

The animals then finally became annoyed, especially the wolf. "How come a monkey compares himself with humankind? His body looks similar, but not his brain," thought the wolf.

Wolf then had an idea. One day he appeared before the monkey king. "Your highness, I found very delicious foods there in the middle of the jungle. I'm sure that you would like them. If you don't mind I will take you there," said the wolf. Surely the monkey agreed and soon he together with the wolf went there. In the middle of the jungle, laid lots of the monkey's favorite fruit. The greedy monkey at once ambushed the fruits. But the monkey surprisingly fell into the ground hole. Foods the monkey ambushed evidently was a trap made by the hunter.

"Help! Help!" cried the monkey while struggling hard to free himself from the trap.

"Ha ha ha ha!" the wolf laughed loudly, "I never imagine a king can act like a stupid, fall into the human's trap. How come a king like monkey can protect his people if he put himself in such danger," said the wolf.
